The story is about a kid, Mia, who is moving up to a new school and wants to make a fresh start. She invites three friends to have a slumber party then go to school together in the morning. The problem is, they’re not really friends yet – she’s trying to become their friend. When they come over, they turn out to be mean girls, making fun of Mia and using the slumber party as a way to sneak out and go to a party nearby. Mia suddenly has to figure out who she is, and who she wants to be. Her dear old friends from her book of fairy tales come through a portal to help her do so! Jasmine, Cinderella, and Belle are soon followed by their mischievous princes, Aladdin and Charming, into the modern world where they learn about cell phones, Kindles, and hashtags. The Beast sadly gets stuck in the portal, but we hear his voice. Can the fairy tale friends help Mia solve her dilemma and still make it back through the portal before the magic ends at midnight? This fast-paced comedy is full of laughs, iconic characters, and heartfelt moments.
